The island comes into full bloom during late May and June. Take a hike across the tundra or into the rolling hills and you’ll be greeted by wide, green fields spotted with yellows, purples and blues.
Some of the more common and iconic flowers on St. Paul Island are the Arctic Poppy, Nootka Lupine, Whorled Lousewort, and the ever-stunning Arctic Primrose. Marvelous Arctic Forget-me-nots (closely related to the Alaska state flower) also dot the island landscape. You’ll likely even spot a fox napping in the flowers or group of reindeer waving their big antlers from atop a lush hillside.
