A breeding bird of southeastern Alaska, this species was first recorded in the Bering Sea region on St. George Island during late June. A late migrant, this individual may be a late spring migrant or perhaps an adult that failed to breed successfully, though the timing is unusual and does not provide any pattern for future records. The second record came from St. Paul Island and followed a more expected pattern of fall arrival in late September, which is more logical to be the most likely timeframe for future records.
