This species has only been recorded three times within the Pribilofs, all from September with two records on St. Paul Island and one from St. George Island. Despite the few records, this species’ population has increased dramatically since the 1990s and an increase in sightings from the Pribilofs would not be unexpected; it is most commonly found during the fall in North America. The difficulty in identifying non-breeding plumaged male birds from similarly plumaged Green-winged Teal is likely to be an issue in locating this species in the islands.
