Pallas’s Bunting

Emberiza pallasi

A vagrant to the Pribilofs, which has been found on one occasion on St. Paul Island in late fall during mid-October, which is similar to the timing of other Old World Buntings during the fall season. There is also a record of an unidentified Old World Bunting thought to be this species or the Reed Bunting (Emberiza schoeniclus) from the spring.

This species is very difficult to identify from its cousin, the Reed Bunting.
