Pine Siskin

Spinus pinus

This irruptive species has occurred as a semi-annual vagrant in the Pribilofs. Only a couple records are from the spring in late May and mid-June, while the majority of records are from the summer and fall. There are a number of summer arrivals with most being found during the month of July. Fall is the most likely period to locate this species though, with mid-late September having more arrivals than any other period. Many occurrences of this species include long-staying individuals or groups of birds as well as arriving individuals overlapping with others already present on the island.
