Purple Finch

Haemorhous purpureus

A very rare vagrant to western Alaska, this species is a vagrant to the entire state of Alaska and has been seen on only a single occasion in the Pribilofs (St. Paul Island). It has only been recorded during the fall in the Bering Sea region, though as with most finches, this species could be found from early September into the early winter depending on the harshness of the weather in the Pribilofs.
