Regularly found during the spring, summer, and fall, this species is most likely to be found in the spring during late May and early June and during the fall from mid-August into October. Individuals are often present for extended periods of time during the year and some may be present from May to October in certain years, though in other years only a handful may be seen at scattered times across many months. This species may also be absent for extended periods of time, most commonly in the summer from late June to mid-July. It has been recorded a handful of times during the winter in the Pribilofs despite a lack of coverage at that season and likely is a regular visitor year-round.
