Arctic Loon

Gavia arctica

The rarest loon species in the Pribilofs with only about a dozen records, this species is most often seen during the month of June, especially mid-month, though based on the few records it could be seen at nearly any time of the year. A regular migrant into the west-central Aleutians and nesting in northwestern Alaska, the records of this species likely pertain to birds moving across the Bering Sea between these two areas. All records from the Pribilofs have involved single individuals.
