Northern Wheatear

Oenanthe oenanthe

This species is a regular spring migrant that has been found from mid-May to mid-June with the peak of occurrence during the final week of May. It is relatively rare during June in the spring and no records have come from the early summer period. The only summer records are from late July and early August of southbound individuals that were earlier than usual on their southbound journey. This species is much more common in the fall when it is seen regularly from August 20th-September 5th and the peak of occurrence is around August 25th. It is rarely recorded after the first week of September with no recorded arrivals from after September 10th.
