Parakeet Auklet

 Aethia psittacula

Nesting in both cliff crevices and rocky beaches, the Parakeet Auklet is the most abundant of the Auklets in St. Paul Island. Its larger size, clean white belly, and larger, rounded reddish-orange bill distinguish it from the other alcids. Noisy and conspicuous, the Parakeet Auklet is readily observed and enjoyed by summer visitors.
