Far Eastern Curlew

Numenius madagascariensis

This is one of the rarest shorebirds to appear with some regularity in the Pribilofs with the seven records averaging every 5-10 years, though at times sightings may be more closely grouped. The only records in the Pribilofs, and for that matter from Alaska, come from the spring or very early summer with nearly all sightings from late May or very early June when this species should be looked for.
