Rarely seen during the spring, and often quite late into that period if it is seen (most records are from the first two weeks of June), this species is best seen on its southbound migration in the Pribilofs. There are a few records from late June through late July, though reliable sightings do not occur until at least the first week of August when juvenile birds begin to appear. From August 5th to September 10th this species is seen regularly, with the highest probability of occurrence usually in the final 10 days of August. Records after September 10th are extremely rare and this species has never been sighted past the third week of September.
