The predominance of records for this species have occurred during the fall in the final 10 days of August, which is the best time to look for this species, the rarest of the Asian stint species to occur in the Pribilofs. All spring sightings have come from late May, which coincide with the overall peak of shorebird migration at that period, while the lone summer record from July could be a failed breeder or an early southbound individual.
