Wilson’s Phalarope

Phalaropus tricolor

This species has been recorded once during late May in the Pribilofs (St. Paul Island) and, with no other records in this region of Alaska, it is hard to understand if this fits a pattern or not. Individuals are found on occasion in south-central and central Alaska during the late spring and migrants are seen almost annually in early fall in Southeast Alaska, which are probably the two most likely time frames for future records.
