Purple Martin

Progne subis

A rare vagrant to the state of Alaska, this species has been found surprisingly often considering, with records every 10-15 years on average in the Pribilofs. A late migrant in western North America, this species is most likely to be found in very late spring or early summer in the islands with late June or July being the best period. The single fall or winter record is an outlier to this pattern and little is known about that record.
