Varied Thrush

Ixoreus naevius

A rare vagrant that is as likely to be found in the spring as the fall, this species is not to be expected at any time though the best periods to look are mid-late May and September 25th-October 10th when a majority of records have occurred. This a cold-hardy species that migrates early in the spring and late in the fall much like the Turdus thrushes, which have a similar pattern of occurrence.
