Warbling Vireo

Vireo gilvus

A rare vagrant from the Alaska mainland, this species has only been recorded in mid-late September with a tight clustering of records around the 15-20th of September, likely indicating that to be the best time to look for this species.

There are two subspecies groups of this species (Eastern and Western), which are occasionally split into separate species. Records from St. Paul have been of the “Western” group though “Eastern” birds are a possibility.
