Wilson’s Warbler

Cardellina pusilla

A rare spring migrant/vagrant, this species has been seen about a dozen times at that season mostly during the first week of June; this species becomes a regular migrant during the fall when it is uncommon. Fall migrants are found earlier than most other warbler species with the peak of migration from August 20th to September 10th. It has only been found a few times prior to August 20th and is very rarely sighted after the middle of September. Many fall occurrences include multiple individuals that arrive and depart at overlapping times.
