This species is found almost exclusively during the fall, when it is a regular migrant/vagrant to the Pribilofs. There is a single late June sighting ,which is the only summer record, while the fall records extend from mid-August through the first week of October. This species is most reliable from August 25th to September 15th. It is recorded less than annually before August 25th and after mid-September, with only a handful of very early October records for this generally early fall migrant.
